This fall, an expanded array of courses is available to undergraduate and graduate students at Oregon State University Hatfield Marine Science Center<\/a><\/strong>. Studying on the coast provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable lab and field experience in a small class environment. Students have an opportunity to live on the Hatfield campus<\/a><\/strong> in the heart of the Oregon coast. For students who need to commute, a daily Coast-to-Valley Shuttle <\/a>is available. OSU Energy Efficiency Center Job Opportunity<\/strong>
The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy\/technical analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-12 hrs\/week) and during the summer (30-40 hrs\/week). Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste. These engineering analyses and improvement recommendations are compiled into a report and delivered to the client. Conversation with Scholar Noam Chomsky<\/strong>
On Tuesday, May 16 at 12 p.m. in the MU Horizon Room<\/strong>, please join the Center for Global Health, Muslim Student Association, and Honors College for a conversation with renowned scholar Noam Chomsky about his recent book, Notes on Resistance<\/em>. Noam Chomsky is Institute Professor (emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Laureate Professor of Linguistics and Agnese Nelms Haury Chair in the Program in Environment and Social Justice at University of Arizona. The event will discuss critical real-world issues, such as lessons we can learn from the pandemic, global challenges we are currently facing, and advice for student activism.
