Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Program Innovation Lab Scholarship and Internship Fund<\/strong>
The Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Innovation Lab Scholarship supports Oregon State University undergraduate students in their second year or more of study who are participating in a paid internship with the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) Innovation Lab (iLab)<\/a> in Newport, Oregon. NickelBlock Forecasting is a small company that publicly serves the central Gulf Coast with daily weather forecasts and an app. This is a remote internship focusing on Python development, HTML\/PHP\/ web development and App development. Interns have historically spent between 10 and 15 hours per week working on projects and helping out with brainstorming. Student Research Assistant and Student Programmer Job Opportunities<\/strong>
The student research assistant’s primary duties consist of conducting literary research, synthesizing literature, creating annotated bibliographies, preparing manuscripts, and attending weekly meetings. Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics is preferred. The student programmer will program an app prototype for easy integration into Canvas, help create instructional videos, and provide research support. Skills preferred are knowledge of HTML\/CSS, Java, JavaScript, and python. Both jobs are an average of 20 hours a week for the 23-24 academic year.
