Each year, we invite a handful of university leaders, faculty, and friends to select a book to share with a small group of Honors College students. Group members each get a free<\/strong> copy of their group\u2019s book to read over the break, and groups meet with their leader to discuss the book at the beginning of winter term over pizza. This is a fantastic way to meet some interesting members of the Oregon State community as well as connect with fellow HC students in a stimulating and informal setting \u2013 plus, you get a great book to read over the break! The Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Innovation Lab Scholarship supports Oregon State University undergraduate students in their second year or more of study who are participating in a paid internship with the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) Innovation Lab (iLab)<\/a> in Newport, Oregon. There will be up to three awards of $18,640 each given to students. If you are interested you <\/strong>must submit your application through OSU ScholarDollars<\/a>. SNAP Outreach at the HSRC<\/strong>
Students may be eligible for $234 a month in grocery funds! SNAP is a federal nutrition benefits program, and the Human Services Resource Center at Oregon State assists with applications! For more information visit the SNAP link here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honors students participating in professional conferences or in need of financial support for research expenses related to their thesis can apply for an Honors Experiential Scholarship. The application can be found here<\/a>. Only applicants who have submitted a signed thesis proposal to the Honors College are eligible for research expense support. The Udall Foundation<\/a> awards scholarships of $7,000 to college sophomores and juniors on the basis of their leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to American Indian nations or to the environment. Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant<\/strong>
The Honors College recognizes that these may continue to be challenging times for Honors College students and their families. The Community Health Fellowship is a unique \u201cgap year\u201d opportunity for recent college graduates from across the country. The organization provides housing and a monthly educational stipend. <\/strong>Project Horseshoe Farm offers Community Health Fellowship programs in Alabama and California. This upcoming year, HSF is offering a traditional Gap-Year Fellowship, which will begin in June of 2022 and finish in July of 2023<\/strong>at Greensboro, Marion, and Pomona sites. For applicants who are available and interested there is also a 6-month Fellowship opportunity in Greensboro from January through July of 2022<\/strong>. It will be shorter, but similar in experience to the full-year Fellowship. The application deadline<\/strong> for the 2022-23 gap-year Fellowship is on Sunday, Feb. 13 2022<\/strong>.
