Apply for the Honors College Student Leadership Circle<\/strong><br>The Honors College Student Leadership Circle lends a diverse student voice to college issues and advises the deans and directors on various topics affecting students and their educational and social experiences in the OSU&nbsp;Honors College. This year the SLC will provide feedback on high-level college strategies to confront perpetuated and reflected privilege and structural racism in the honors community and work toward a more just and better future for all.&nbsp;The circle will be working on initiatives that impact honors curriculum, student engagement and community building.<br><br>The HC is looking for student representatives from every undergraduate college at OSU. To be considered for selection, student applicants must be available to attend quarterly meetings and be willing to share advice and counsel to college leadership.&nbsp;All participants must be willing to seek input from relevant student groups and engage with other honors students as we work to enhance the well-being of members in the Honors College community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW! Dean and Friends Lunch \u2013 Using Business Ethics as a Framework for Success<br><\/strong>All Honors College students are invited to the first Dean and Friends conversation of the new academic year on&nbsp;<strong>Thursday, Oct.&nbsp;14&nbsp;from&nbsp;noon to 12:50 p.m.&nbsp;in<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>MU 221.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cDean and Friends\u201d events are opportunities for Honors College students to meet with alumni and other HC friends and supporters to learn more about their professional paths and experiences.<br><br>Our guest at this session will be&nbsp;<strong>Adam King<\/strong>, the managing director, assistant treasurer at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lamresearch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lam Research<\/a>. Adam graduated from Oregon State in chemical engineering in 1993, and he was also a member of the honors program that preceded the formation of the Honors College during his time at OSU. He went on to earn an MBA from Yale University in 1999, and he has worked at Intel, Novellus Systems&nbsp;and Lam Research, after it acquired Novellus. At this Dean and Friends, King will lead a conversation about \u201cUsing Business Ethics as a Framework for Success\u201d and share some things he wish he had known in college.
