Last week at the Honors College’s induction events, I spoke to students and families about the importance and strength of the Honors College community. The Honors College strives to be a place that supports students in the authentic expression of their identity and in the pursuit of their personal, academic and professional goals, whatever those happen to be. This commitment is built into our core values: We work and grow together. We collaborate rather than compete. We succeed, and sometimes fail, together – and we are all the stronger for it.

As we begin this year on campus, I know many of you may be experiencing a mix of emotions – excitement but also, perhaps, anxiety or concern. These remain challenging times, and even to those of us who have been in the honors community for some years, the once-familiar feels new. As you make this transition, remember that we in the Honors College are here to support you. Reach out to an honors advisor, to a peer or to me. No one has to do this alone.

I wish you all the best in the term and year ahead. As always, I am proud to be part of this college, and I look forward to everything that we can achieve this year together.

Toni

Toni L.
