OSU Continues to Require Face Coverings Indoors
Based on new face covering guidelines from the Oregon Health Authority, face coverings are no longer required outdoors at OSU, unless the outdoor setting is crowded, or physical distancing cannot be maintained. OSU does not believe the state’s proof of vaccination requirements are workable in an open university environment where entry to facilities is not carefully controlled, and as such, OSU has shared feedback with state officials in the hopes of revising OHA requirements to be more suitable for the higher education environment. Consequently, for the time being, OSU continues to require individuals wear face coverings indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

The updated OSU face covering policy is here. An oral history is a collection of memories and personal commentaries of a historical event through recorded interviews. Generally, each interview will take about an hour, or however long each student needs.

During these interviews, students will be encouraged to share the stressors they encountered and the subsequent methods used to cope with them. Each participant will have full input to help the researcher create an accurate and cohesive story from their interview. Participants will also be asked to provide artistic images which complimented their experience, whether that is art they enjoy or created themselves. This may include poems, pictures, drawings, paintings, screenshots of media feed which are significant to them, collages or any other medium. Ultimately, the artistic images and written versions of the oral history will be compiled into a zine; a self-published, non-commercial print work that will be shared with OSU, likely in an online, PDF format. Students who are interested in volunteering for an interview should email Sydni Burt at burts@oregonstate.edu.

Scholarship Opportunities

Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant
The Honors College recognizes that this may be a particularly challenging time for Honors College students and their families.
