Kate Brown\u2019s&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/govstatus.egov.com\/or-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Two-Week Statewide Freeze<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;order<\/strong> <strong>issued Nov. 13<\/strong>. Oregon State Police will work with local law enforcement to enforce orders that include restricting&nbsp;gatherings to<strong> six people from no more than two households.<\/strong> OSU expects all employees and students to follow all freeze requirements and OSU\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/policy.oregonstate.edu\/UPSM\/04-040_COVID19_physical_distancing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Physical Distancing Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A negative test result does not confirm a student does not have the virus and is not infectious.<\/strong> We must continue observing public health measures and monitor our own wellness.&nbsp;If you become infected or are exposed to a person who is infected, you must isolate or quarantine before traveling. The Oregon Health Authority\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us\/DHSForms\/Served\/le2388A.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>&nbsp;offers more information on isolation and quarantine guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We encourage all students to obtain a flu shot.<\/strong> OSU Corvallis students can obtain a flu shot at Student Health Services. Call&nbsp;541-737-9355 to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We advise students to plan carefully and limit holiday travel.&nbsp;<\/strong>Please limit travel between communities to avoid exposing yourself and others to COVID-19.&nbsp;The states of Oregon, California and Washington have issued&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/newsroom\/Pages\/NewsDetail.aspx?newsid=37700\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">travel advisories,<\/a>&nbsp;recommending <strong>14-day quarantines for interstate and international travel <\/strong>and asking residents to remain local and not travel across borders. Additionally, the OHA <a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/accounts\/ORDHS\/bulletins\/2accf58\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">encourages college students<\/a>, <strong>where possible and practical, to remain in the communities where they are currently living.&nbsp;<\/strong>If you test negative for COVID-19 and plan to travel home or visit another location during the Thanksgiving holiday, consider staying there for the remainder of the term and through winter break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OSU will operate as fully remote for the remainder of fall term.<\/strong>&nbsp;Face-to-face teaching on the Corvallis campus will end on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020. Week 10 classes and fall term final exams and activities will be delivered remotely. Students are not required to return to OSU\u2019s Corvallis campus after the Thanksgiving break for the remainder of fall term. On-campus housing and dining services in both Corvallis and Bend will remain available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sign up for the&nbsp;Oregon Exposure Notification&nbsp;Pilot<\/strong>. Help OSU deploy new technology to alert community members when they have been exposed to someone confirmed to have COVID-19. If you receive an exposure notification, you will have the opportunity to receive a COVID-19 test through TRACE-OSU. Delta Scholars are selected for their academic achievements and commitment to public service to participate in a ten-day Summer Institute in Mississippi followed by a five-day trip to Boston and Harvard University in the fall. Both experiences will help young leaders think critically about systemic injustices in the Mississippi Delta, and each Scholar will develop a project that will produce positive social change in their communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a nationally competitive program aimed at all sophomore students, with preference given to those who are from or attending school in the Mississippi Delta Region. We encourage students who are experiencing difficulty paying the costs associated with Honors College enrollment to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/honors.oregonstate.edu\/webform\/hc-differential-tuition-grants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply<\/a> for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant. Determinations will be made on a rolling basis and will consider both need and the likelihood of earning the Honors Baccalaureate.<strong>&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Inability to pay Honors College differential tuition or other costs this term should not be the primary barrier to any student&#8217;s successful graduation from the college or continuation as an honors student.<\/strong><\/strong>&nbsp;Approved grants may be for the full HC differential tuition (currently $500) or a portion of it and are for one-term only.
