Todd is currently a software engineer with Google, where he is the technical lead for the Android kernel. We encourage students experiencing difficulty paying the costs associated with Honors College enrollment to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/honors.oregonstate.edu\/webform\/hc-differential-tuition-grants\" target=\"_blank\">apply<\/a> for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant. Determinations will be made on a rolling basis and will consider both need and the likelihood of earning the Honors Baccalaureate.<strong>&nbsp;<br><br>Inability to pay Honors College differential tuition or other costs this term should not be the primary barrier to any student&#8217;s successful graduation from the college or continuation as an honors student.<\/strong>&nbsp;Approved grants may be for the full HC differential tuition (currently $500) or a portion of it and are for one-term only. URSA Research Ready Workshop<\/strong><br>Wondering how to get involved in research at OSU? Student Budget Advisory Council Seeking Members<\/strong><br>The Student Budget Advisory Council is a student group that serves in an advisory role to the University Budget Committee. The SBAC gives students the chance to engage with peers to&nbsp;provide input, raise issues and ask questions about OSU\u2019s tuition, fees, finances and budget priorities. The University Budget Committee considers the students&#8217; input an important part of tuition and budget decision processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Associate Vice President for Budget &amp; Resource Planning convenes the Student Budget Advisory Council during the academic year. The Council meets every two weeks from October through May. The Council schedule contains evening meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month and are no more than 90 minutes in length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2020-2021 Council membership will consist of up to 15 student members. Student membership and participation is ideally for two consecutive years but can be for just one year. The membership aims to include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ten representatives selected by application, chosen for expertise, motivation, and distribution across university colleges and programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One ASOSU representative appointed from the ASOSU elected membership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One graduate student representative&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three representatives will fill at large positions by invitation from the Student Budget Advisory Council chairs, ensuring there is representation from a cross-section of OSU\u2019s student population.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have interest in tuition, fee rates and policies including short-term recommendations for 2021-2022 and long-term planning strategy for OSU tuition, please visit the Student Budget Advisory Council page <a href=\"http:\/\/fa.oregonstate.edu\/budget\/university-budget-committee\/student-budget-advisory-council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. The Honors College Student Leadership Circle lends a diverse student voice to college issues and advises the deans and directors on various topics affecting students and their educational and social experiences at the Oregon State University Honors College. This year the Circle will provide feedback on a high-level college strategy to confront perpetuated and reflected privilege and structural racism in the honors community and work toward a more just and better future for all. Additionally, the Circle may be charged with special initiatives to strengthen the sense of community and continue to build relationships with academic departments in hopes of enhancing the Honors College experience for all students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Honors College is looking for student representatives from every undergraduate college at OSU. It covers check-ups, some dental care, prescriptions, labs, x-rays, hospital care and other services. It may even pay for rides to and from the doctor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now more than ever, it is critical for you to have adequate and affordable health coverage that meets your needs. Do you have experience with StarCraft, StarCraft II,&nbsp;or other real time strategy games?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you answered&nbsp;yes&nbsp;to these questions, you may qualify&nbsp;for a two-hour human-computer interaction research study. The experiment involves attending a&nbsp;two-hour&nbsp;session with Oregon State University (remotely via Zoom) where you will work to evaluate and explain the actions of an AI player in&nbsp;an AI-powered&nbsp;RTS (real-time strategy) game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will be paid $20 for their time and effort,&nbsp;provided upon&nbsp;completion of the study.
