Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Honors College recognizes that this may be a particularly challenging time for Honors College students and their families. We encourage students who are experiencing difficulty paying the costs associated with Honors College enrollment to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/honors.oregonstate.edu\/webform\/hc-differential-tuition-grants\" target=\"_blank\">apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Determinations will be made on a rolling basis and will consider both need and the likelihood of earning the Honors Baccalaureate.<strong>&nbsp;Inability to pay Honors College differential tuition or other costs this term should not be the primary barrier to any student&#8217;s successful graduation from the college or continuation as an honors student.<\/strong>&nbsp;Approved grants may be for the full HC differential tuition (currently $500) or a portion of it and are for one-term only. One of the many looming threats of the current pandemic is an expected surge in levels of hunger and food insecurity. Spikes in hunger are predicted in our neighborhoods, across each state, throughout our country, and in countries around the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new threat calls for a special effort. <em>Poetry X Hunger <\/em>is urging poets in this Now More Than Ever moment to raise voices against hunger as it accompanies the pandemic. Write a family-friendly poem in Word format of no more than 40 lines focused on some aspect of the pandemic on hunger and food insecurity. Some possible topics include gratitude to those who are on the food security front lines, concern\/fear over looming hunger among vulnerable groups, and calls to action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Send the poem along with a two-sentence bio and your picture to <a href=\"mailto:PoetryXHunger@gmail.com\">PoetryXHunger@gmail.com<\/a>. By doing so, you will be giving <em>Poetry X Hunger<\/em> permission to post your poem on its website and\/or Facebook page. There is no deadline, but please send your poems as soon as you write and polish them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Poetry X Hunger<\/em> hopes that these poems will be useful to folks in hunger-prevention organizations who are working overtime to meet current and impending needs &#8211; locally, nationally, and globally. <strong>We need powerful poetry that gives voice to our collective concerns.
