The Honors College is seeking applicants for two tutoring positions within Physics and Chemistry beginning spring term. Both positions are responsible for holding tutoring hours and assisting students with questions related to a variety of courses.
Physics tutor applicants should be able to provide help with courses including PH 211-213, PH 106, PH 203, and PH 221-223(H). University of Minnesota Duluth’s Honors Program is currently seeking academic and creative submissions for the 2020 issue of Aisthesis<\/em>, our undergraduate honors journal. As an interdisciplinary publication, we welcome academic work, including honors capstone projects, literature reviews, and research articles from all fields of research. Creative submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art (including but not limited to painting, sculpture, short film, multimedia, and photography) are also encouraged. If you are hoping to build your resume, share your work, and publish as an undergraduate, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Oregon Sea Grant’s “Don’t Pack a Pest for Academic Travelers Program” invites applications for a part-time (10-16 hours a week) communications and design assistant. The student will support the Don\u2019t Pack a Pest for Academic Travelers Research Program, which aims to understand the academic traveler\u2019s (faculty, international students, and study-abroad students) knowledge and awareness of the Don\u2019t Pack a Pest campaign, and to develop appropriate pre-arrival education materials tailored for students and faculty. This project addresses the global problem of invasive species, which are plants, animals, pests, and diseases that can hitchhike with international travelers and cause widespread harm to our ecosystems, economy, and human health.
The position assists the supervisor and research team primarily on the communications and marketing portion of project implementation but will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the project, including research, needs assessment and product development; education programming development, implementation, outreach and evaluation of the Don\u2019t Pack a Pest for Academic Travelers program.

Leadership opportunities are available through Safeguard Youth a youth-led, state-wide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a platform for youth and survivors of child abuse to advocate and defend higher-quality child welfare. Oregon has one of the worst child welfare systems in the country and is currently facing a federal lawsuit because of it; That\u2019s why an OSU student and survivor of child abuse for 13 years, started Safeguard Youth. Now, we\u2019re rapidly growing to Linfield, UofO, PSU, Southern Oregon and beyond. We\u2019re meeting with representatives and dozens of nonprofits and businesses. Just place your ID up to the black proxy scanner and the door will unlock.
