Natalie participated in OSU\u2019s spring 2019 theater production of <em>Sense and Sensibility<\/em> and is in the current staging of <em>The Secret Garden<\/em> musical. She is a lead officer of the swing club on campus, where she co-teaches and coordinates swing dances a few Fridays every term in collaboration with the Corvallis Swing Society and is helping organize a TEDx event set to take place in spring 2020. What sealed\nthe deal for her, however, was the smaller class sizes, student-faculty\nrelationships, and the \u201cliberal arts\u201d feel of the Honors College. \u201cI had that\n\u2018click\u2019 feeling,\u201d Natalie says. \u201cI felt like I would be supported academically,\nbut also that I would be challenged to try new things.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nHonors College has given her opportunities to learn alongside people from a\nmultitude of majors through colloquia courses, bond with honors students from\nboth OSU\u2019s Corvallis and Cascades campuses, and work with professional and\nstudent staff thanks to her job at the Honors College.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4841\" width=\"630\" height=\"840\" srcset=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-1250x1667.jpg 1250w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-400x533.jpg 400w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1811\/files\/2020\/03\/At-Work-2020-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI get to expand upon my own skills as a\nhuman being as I collaborate with others in the classroom and in the community\nas a whole,\u201d Natalie says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natalie\nhas found exactly those same values in her sorority, Kappa Delta. \u201cBoth [the\nHonors College and Kappa Delta] inspire continuous learning, developing\nleadership skills, and working together to help communities,\u201d Natalie says. She\ndescribes both the Honors College and her sorority as an interdisciplinary\ncommunity where you learn from others in many different ways.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natalie joined Kappa Delta fall term of her freshman year, in 2018, and she immediately found opportunities for leadership and engagement. From January 2019 to November 2019 she was the vice president of finance for Kappa Delta, and currently, she is the chapter\u2019s academic excellence chair.
