All Honors College students are invited to a Dean and Friends lunch with HC alum D\u2019Anna Foster on developing professional skills after college this Thursday, February 27<\/strong> from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in MU 221<\/strong>. D\u2019Anna graduated from OSU in 2009 with HBS degrees in business administration and exercise and sports science. While at Oregon State, she was a member of the OSU gymnastics team, earning the Pac-10 (at the time) Leadership Award and Pac-10 All-Academic First Team, and she was president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council. She has also received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2013 and received the OSU Alumni Association\u2019s Young Alumni Award in 2015. She has worked at Nike for eight years, and she is currently the merchandising leader for the Jordan Brand in Asia Pacific Latin America. Previously, she has been the global strategy director for Nike Women and for Nike Factory Store, and she was global strategy manager for Direct to Consumer at Nike. At this lunch, she will discuss approaches to continuing to develop skills after graduation, exploring topics such as earning an MBA and evaluating timing and value propositions to new opportunities. The Honors College Student Leadership Circle (SLC) is a diverse set of student voices advising the deans and directors on various topics affecting students, their educational and social experiences at the Oregon State University Honors College. We are seeking a new student member from the College of Public Health and Human Sciences to participate in the circle for the remainder of this academic year. The SLC provides feedback on high-level college strategy, program interventions, and curricular initiatives. Additionally, representatives are charged with special initiatives to strengthen the sense of community and continue to build relationships with academic departments in hopes of enhancing the Honors College experience for all students.
To be considered for selection, PHHS student applicants must be available to attend quarterly meetings and be willing to share advice and counsel to college leadership on issues and concerns. All participants must be willing to seek input from relevant student groups when issues arise and engage in ways that enhance the general well-being of the population that make up the Honors College.

HCSA is participating in OSU\u2019s annual food drive! Every year during the month of February the university comes together and plans a wide variety of food and fund-raising activities to help the hungry. Proceeds from the OSU Corvallis campus benefit the non-profit agencies served in Linn-Benton Food Share. These agencies include local food pantries, the OSU food pantry, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, daycare centers, shelter homes, and gleaning groups in Linn and Benton counties. The HCSA has raised the most funds for a student group the last few years, and hope to keep the tradition going! Help by supporting some of the upcoming activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
The Honors College presents the annual student art showcase. The HC is looking to add to their permanent wall art collection and is holding an art showcase to select a few pieces for purchase. Students interested in displaying and potentially selling a piece of their art should complete the registration form here<\/a> and submit their framed art to the HC office \u2013 450 LInC \u2013 by March 5<\/strong>. All art will be displayed in March with the winner being announced on Mar. 12 at the HC3 event. Select art pieces may be purchased by the Honors College for up to $250 per art piece and historically displayed in LINC spaces.

ASA study facilitators manage tables as part of a study facilitator team. Each study table holds 3 – 5 students. Study facilitators are expected to work M-Th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., and provide guidance and support to students athletes in developing good study habits and completing assignments, as well as creating an environment conducive to learning.
ASA Tutors help with both assigned content areas and academic skills (time management, note taking, organization, etc.). This requires differentiating instruction\/assistance to match the strengths of the student.
