College of Engineering Degree Completion Scholarships<\/strong><br>Winter term nominations are now being accepted&nbsp;to support undergraduate COE students who are in financial need as they near degree completion. The nomination form is online: <a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_2smV2e4hDQnuJjD\">Degree Completion Scholarship Form<\/a>.<br>The criteria for student eligibility is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Must be a COE undergraduate in good academic standing<\/li><li>Must be within 3 terms of graduation<\/li><li>Must be at risk of not completing their degree due to financial hardship<\/li><li>Must not have already received a COE completion scholarship (these are one-time scholarships)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Completion scholarships are awarded each term, so the nomination cycle will open at the beginning of each term. <em>The deadline for nominations is the end of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> week of every term. <strong>The deadline for this term\u2019s nominations is January 17.<\/strong><\/em> &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> If you have any questions about the completion scholarships, please contact <a href=\"mailto:Brett.Jeter@oregonstate.edu\">Brett.Jeter@oregonstate.edu<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:Annie.Ingersoll@oregonstate.edu\">Annie.Ingersoll@oregonstate.edu<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOAA Scholarship Applications Open<\/strong><br>Attention second-year undergraduates, mentors, and advisors! The NOAA Office of Education is accepting applications for two scholarship opportunities for second-year undergraduates. The NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship and NOAA Educational Partnership with Minority Serving Institutions (EPP\/MSI) Scholarship are <strong>now open to apply through January 31, 2020<\/strong>. These generous scholarships award students with academic assistance ($9,500 per year in junior and senior year) and a 10-week, full-time paid summer internship at any NOAA facility nationwide, with travel expenses included. Students accepted into the EPP\/MSI scholarship will be awarded two 10-week, full-time paid summer internships. All scholars also receive support to present their research at up to two national conferences. This summer internship program is a 10-week opportunity, starting in the first week of June and concluding in the first week of August, at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.&nbsp;The intern participating in the program will join a diverse group of students from various schools across the country, work on a research project and experience medicine first hand: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.med.umich.edu\/mcorrp\/about-us\/internship.html\">http:\/\/www.med.umich.edu\/mcorrp\/about-us\/internship.html<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ninternship includes a stipend, as well as a housing and travel\nallowance.&nbsp;To apply students should be interested in pursuing a career in\nhealthcare, and be a strong steward of OSU and the Honors College. The students gain a firsthand view of the policy-making and legislative process, as well as gain access to high-profile South-Asian leaders in the nation&#8217;s capital. Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY), Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), and Rep.&nbsp;Pramila&nbsp;Jayapal (D-WA). Alumni&nbsp;have gone on to win Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and Truman Scholarships, as well as acceptances into top-flight medical, law, public policy, and other post-graduate programs.
