TheSIS Stage 1: Plan Workshop<\/strong><br>The Honors College Thesis Success in Stages (TheSIS) guide is designed to support students as they work toward completion of their HC thesis. The first stage in this process, Plan, provides an introduction to the thesis requirements and an outline of thesis resources for students. This stage has two components: a 45-minute introductory workshop and a Thesis Map. The group will depart from Corvallis at 12:30 p.m. and return no later than 6:00 p.m. Both transportation and lunch will be provided to students for free.<br><br>Jayson Shanafelt will be hosting our group at Port of Portland for an exciting afternoon of behind-the-scenes tours of the internal operations of the airport including the airfield, the Oregon Air National Guard base, and other facilities that help to keep the airport operations moving smoothly. The NOAA Office of Education is accepting applications for two scholarship opportunities for second-year undergraduates. The NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship and NOAA Educational Partnership with Minority Serving Institutions (EPP\/MSI) Scholarship are <strong>now open to apply through January 31, 2020<\/strong>. These generous scholarships award students with academic assistance ($9,500 per year in junior and senior year) and a 10-week, full-time paid summer internship at any NOAA facility nationwide, with travel expenses included. Students accepted into the EPP\/MSI scholarship will be awarded two 10-week, full-time paid summer internships. All scholars also receive support to present their research at up to two national conferences. Apply <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/oedwebapps.iso.noaa.gov\/uspa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>here<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#d73f09\"><strong>Job and Internship Opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW!<\/strong> <strong>Application Now Available: Honors College Representative at the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting Program (MCORRP)<\/strong><br>Through a generous gift by Dr. Kim Eagle, the Honors College is pleased to offer a paid internship with the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting Program (MCORRP). This summer internship program is a 10-week opportunity, starting in the first week of June and concluding in the first week of August&nbsp;at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.&nbsp;The internship includes a stipend, as well as a housing and travel allowance.&nbsp;To apply students should be interested in pursuing a career in healthcare&nbsp;and be a strong steward of OSU and the Honors College. The students gain a firsthand view of the policy-making and legislative process, as well as gain access to high-profile South-Asian leaders in the nation&#8217;s capital. Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY), Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), and Rep.&nbsp;Pramila&nbsp;Jayapal (D-WA). Alumni&nbsp;have gone on to win Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and Truman Scholarships, as well as acceptances into top-flight medical, law, public policy, and other post-graduate programs.
