This summer, honors computer science student Phillip Mestas will be returning to Google for his second internship with the company. \u201cI got connected with Google by just applying online,\u201d Phillip says. \u201cI submitted an application, not thinking anything would come from it, but to my surprise I got a call back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phillip previously worked with Google last summer as an intern working on the auto-suggest feature in the Google Play store. \u201cThe research experience that I had from working on my honors thesis definitely helped my application stand out,\u201d Phillip says. \u201cI was just grateful to have the opportunity to talk to a recruiter, but I ended up passing the technical interviews and then got the offer for the internship!\u201d<\/p>\n

This summer, Phillip will work on the Google Cloud Engineering Production Team. His work will help other developers creating Google Cloud-related products by implementing an easier system for testing.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very happy to be back at Google, and lucky that I get to work on a new team in a different role this summer,\u201d Phillip says. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to gaining new experiences, and learning from my colleagues\u2019 experiences to determine what direction I want to take my career in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
