Intro

Life has a funny way of taking us in directions we never imagined.

As a kid, I was always intrigued by computers, but as with many childhood curiosities, the depth of my exploration was limited. Much later, I found myself venturing into philosophy during my college years.

While I was neck-deep in Plato and Aristotle, many of my friends were diving into algorithms and data structures. I couldn’t help but dabble a little, picking up some Python along the way.

Graduating in 2020 was a trip. The world was uncertain, and so was I. With a shiny degree in hand, I took a job as a paralegal and entertained the idea of becoming an attorney. But it soon became clear: my heart wasn’t in it.

As I looked back at the crossroads of my life, my initial fascination with technology beckoned. I realized there was no better time than now to pivot to computer science, which led me to OSU’s post-bacc program!

Today, I work part time for a managed IT service provider here in my hometown, and I’m on the hunt for my first role as a software engineer.

Some of my favorite technologies are Node.js and Flask. I’ve also been exploring tools like AWS, Netlify, and Cloudflare. Additionally, systems programming has captured my interest.

This journey has been great, and I can’t wait to work on the capstone project with my team. I’m excited to wrap up the program with a project that shows how much I’ve learned.

So here I am, sharing my journey as part of this capstone course. Thanks for joining me as I chronicle my experiences, challenges, and aspirations.
