My name is Hang Liu. I came from China, I got my Bachelor and Master degree in Mechanical engineering. Currently I live in Hamburg, Germany. (9 hours time difference with PST, so sometimes it is a bit harder for me to find a team because of this) I worked in the automotive industry as quality engineer for 5 years. 2 years ago, I decided to become a developer and started my OSU learning journey.
The reason why I want to learn CS is that information technology has become the trend in many fields. Taking example, for the automotive industry, which in the past laid its foundation on mechanical engineering, also has begun its journey of transformation. Autonomous driving and Internet of vehicles have become the mainstream of future development. I did the self-learning on programming before joining OSU, and I found it was very interesting to do the coding. Then I realized it is necessary to learn CS systematically, so I chose to join the OSU CS program. How time flies, now I am about to graduate 🙂
Regarding the projects in this course, I prefer to choose the following: 1. Dating app for animal adoption, 2. Citizen Science App for Kids, 3. Crowd-sourced Shopping App.
Regarding hobbies, I like jogging, reading, playing Frisbee.
