As an avid supporter of Trader Joe’s, if I stumbled upon a news article outlining allegations of widespread discrimination within the organization, I would be heartbroken. This would totally change my perception of the company and probably would stick with me for a long time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Undoubtedly, yes. Sadly, however, I think the company would have to contradict my personal beliefs or faith in order for me to really be upset about it. In other words, there have been companies I still support even though they might have discriminated against another group of which I wasn’t part of. It would have to be personal to me for it to really make me upset about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Would these revelations affect my decision to continue supporting the company?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think it depends. I say this because there have been allegations made about companies before that haven’t been true. I think if there was a thorough investigation and the claims that were made were true then I would boycott the company. I would also choose to not support them if the investigation went through and then nothing was done to change their ways of dealing with the situation to where the discrimination kept happening. Even though I love Trader Joe’s products, this would be a very big deterrent for me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Would I still consider applying to work for the company in the future?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don’t think I would apply to work anywhere if I didn’t fully trust that they wouldn’t discriminate against me. This is because I think it would ruin my own reputation by being associated with them.
