My team submitted our midway project yesterday and I just finished filming my video walk through of my contributions to the project. I have to say, I really, really, REALLY, like doing front end web design. I know it’s not the most difficult code wise, but I just love making slick looking websites.

It’s what sells the idea. the backend functionality is expected, and frankly, it’s boring. I just made a landing page for a react website that has parallax scrolling videos, mixed with informational cards that are hover and resize responsive. I made a navbar that collapses into a mobile navbar menu that scrolls open when you click it. I love it. I love a well designed UI and a well thought out UX.

If you read my first blog post, you know that I started my college journey as an art major. There is still a part of me that misses that and I feel like web design is a way of reconnecting with my long forgotten past. I may never go in to web development, but knowing that I can get sucked in to designing for hours on end is a good sign that I could thrive in that field.
