If a German words ends with a single E, is it pronounced like the letter E? My tires are made by Schwalbe. Is this pronounced shvalbay, shvalbuh, or shvalb?
Are there any words in a German sentence which stay the same no matter which placement they have? I was thinking “then” or “that” or “this” might be an instance.

It is indeed pronounced like the letter E (German pronunciation). You can listen to the pronuncation on dict.leo.org. Here is a link for your convenience: http://dict.leo.org/#/search=schwalbe&searchLoc=0&resultOrder=basic&multiwordShowSingle=on

The same in spelling? There are quite a few words that stay the same. Adverbs, for example.
