My buddy had gotten a job down in southern Oregon working for a general contractor. The job was very appealing and the pay was decent and the people were really nice and supporting in the development of your career. But I had worked with a general contractor this summer as an intern up in Portland. Where the pay was a little more, which made it more appealing to me. But also I could still live at home for some time and save up money to buy my first house. I really would like to go work with my buddy because in school we really work well together when tackling assignments on group projects. We know each others strengths and weakness’s so we know how to divide the work load. But I felt like the opportunity within the job offer compared to the one I received from the company I worked with was lacking the experience I wanted. They focused more on renovation of historical buildings while I’m currently more focused on high rise buildings. So the job experience would compensate me more with knowledge as well as pay if I choose the Portland, as well as keeping living expenses to a minimum. As much as I wanted to go work with my buddy I choose to stay up in Portland for the job that payed a little more and where I would not have to spend money on rent for a while till I could save up and buy a house.
