One of the classes I found to be the most beneficial to my degree, construction engineering management, was my Revitt class. This is a 3D modeling software for buildings. This is not something I will be doing when I go into work but what I found most beneficial about it is how it taught me to read plans. This is a tremendous skill needed for what I’ll be doing. Another thing that I really enjoyed about the class was how it allowed me to see how a building works, I was able to see how everything connected together and you get a better understanding how construction should take place. Another thing about the class is that it was just fun, which I think helped my learning a lot. This class also taught me how to use another program called bluebeam and this tool is absolutely incredible. This is a tool I will be using on a daily basis at my job and learning the ins and outs of it was great. This is probably one of the most used tools in the field of work ill going into. One class that I found to be not beneficial was chemistry. This class has no relevance to what I’ll be doing when I graduate. It can be very interesting at times but it didn’t do anything for me in terms of progressing in my career. Which ended up making this class more difficult for me to learn. I also took this class during the middle of covid and that created a whole new challenge for me.
