Company 1: Hilton
I was surprised to see Hilton at the top of this list as I feel that I have heard negative stereotypes about working in the hospitality industry. This company has an overwhelming 95% employee satisfaction rate, coming in at 38% higher than the average satisfaction rate of 57%. This company inhibits high levels of pride and fulfillment by working here. All of the satisfaction categories come in above 95% and they have been rated as the #1 company to work for in 2024, the best workplace for Women for the past several years, and among the top Fortune 100 companies to work for. The HR department does a great job managing customer inquiries, and a superior job of practicing ethical business methods.
Company 2: Salesforce
Salesforce employees rate their satisfaction working there at 70% while the average company is 57%. 86% of employees feel that they have flexibility in terms of taking time off and that they feel welcomed in the company. Their HR department does a great job maintaining morale and making the employees feel connected and inspired by the Salesforce missions and goals. Some of the other key words employees of this company used to describe their experiences here include great benefits, teamwork, culture, values, and community. These are practices of great leadership by their executives and creates a more effective and consistently running company.
Company 3: The Cheesecake Factory
This one also took me by surprise as some of my experiences with Cheesecake Factory employees did not seem like they were as satisfied with their job as these statistics do. Cheesecake Factory has a high employee satisfaction rate at 85% and their HR department does a good job at emphasizing individuality of their employees, prioritizing accessible resources to their employees, and welcoming members to their team. Employees described working for this company as having a positive atmosphere, friendly, people-oriented, family, and having good teamwork.
Company 4: Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants
Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants is a company that operates over 50 hotels and 60+ restaurants, lounges, and bars across the country. I picked this one because I was surprised how I had never heard of a company that was ranked so high on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For. Their employee satisfaction came out to 89% with 91% saying they are proud to work for this company. This company can be described as loving, caring, having a positive culture, and a team oriented mindset.
In the future, I hope to be a manager who can also be an effective leader. I want to inspire my employees to want to work to make the company successful and feel like they are welcomed and cared about. I have some management experience being a manager at a restaurant I have worked for since high school and I think some of the most difficult parts of management are mitigating employee issues and concerns while also making effective decisions for the business. I think it can sometimes be hard to have close interpersonal relationships with employees because it makes it harder for them to see you as their boss in the workplace which can make it harder to make decisions without having biases or pressure from them.
