Spring Term Rootstock Hours<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Spring Term Rootstock Hours have been updated<\/strong>! The pantry will be stocked and staffed at these times:<\/strong>
Undergraduate Hours<\/strong> – Tuesdays from 12:00pm – 2:00pm and Wednesdays from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
Graduate Pantry Days & Hours<\/strong> – April 1st, May 6th, and June 3rd from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between Leaving and Belonging: Stories of Refugee Resilience<\/mark><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Join us for our Between Leaving and Belonging: Stories of Refugee Resilience Community Dialogue. This interactive gathering will explore some of the many realities and stories behind forced displacement and the refugee experience. Participants will engage in guided reflection and conversation centered on refugee stories and the five stages of the refugee resettlement process. Through interactive activities, dialogue, and a panel discussion, we will examine the root causes of forced displacement, build awareness of the challenges refugees face, and explore what it can look like to rebuild and integrate into a new community. Together, we will also identify meaningful ways individuals and communities can advocate for and support refugee communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a 2-hour event with refreshments; we ask that participants stay for the full duration to respect the dialogic process. Participants must arrive no later than 5:20 PM. Registration is highly encouraged! Register here<\/u><\/a> or from the CEL homepage.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring Awards now open!<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the College of Forestry recognizes exceptional instructors and mentors with the Robert Aufderheide Award<\/strong> and the Julie Kliewer Mentor Award<\/strong>, both presented at the Spring Term Dean\u2019s Award Dinner <\/strong>by members of Xi Sigma Pi. These awards are student-nominated, so please consider submitting your nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College also recognizes outstanding seniors at the CoF Commencement Celebration<\/strong>. Eligible nominees are students who go above and beyond\u2014assisting instructors, contributing to club projects, demonstrating professional potential, achieving high academic success, and showing outstanding leadership and engagement. Students, faculty, and staff may nominate candidates for the Harold Bowerman Leadership Award<\/strong> and the Paul and Neva Dunn Senior Award<\/strong>, both of which include a cash prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Forestry Club invites students to submit nominations for this year\u2019s Kelly Axe Award<\/strong>. Graduating CoF seniors who go above and beyond in supporting instructors and fellow students are eligible. The Kelly Axe is presented at the Commencement Celebration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CoF students from all campuses (<\/em>Corvallis, Cascades, and Ecampus<\/em><\/strong>) are eligible to submit nominations, and CoF Graduating Seniors from all campuses are eligible to be nominated. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pack Essay Contest<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Do you enjoy writing and could use an extra\u00a0$300<\/strong>? Then you need to enter an essay in this year\u2019s\u00a0Pack Essay Contest<\/strong>. Write about a forestry- or natural-resources\u2013related topic of local, national, or global significance for a chance to win. Details and instructions are available on the Spring Awards\u00a0\u200bSharePoint site<\/a>\u200b. Nominations are due April 23rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW Free Bus Service <\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The 99 Vine is a grant-funded pilot transit service between Eugene and McMinnville with stops at the OSU Corvallis campus and the Eugene Airport! The service makes four daily runs Monday through Friday. The OSU stop is located at the northeast corner of 15th Street and Jefferson Way. Visit Pacific Crest Bus Lines\u2019 website to view stops and schedules.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring Into Safety<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The OSU University Health & Safety Committee (ehs.oregonstate.edu\/UHSC) is presenting a weekly safety seminar to OSU faculty, staff, and students during Spring Term. When you attend a training, you will receive one entry into a raffle. Attend more trainings and you will have more opportunities to win!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
