For 2026, we aim to explore how the Faustmann formula and related frameworks continue to inform decision-making in a world shaped by <strong>risk, uncertainty, and change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome <strong>theoretical, empirical, and applied contributions<\/strong> that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Extensions, applications, and critiques<\/strong> of the Faustmann formula<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forest and natural resource economics under <strong>risk and uncertainty<\/strong> (or their absence)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Economic and ecological modeling under <strong>environmental fluctuations<\/strong>, including extreme events such as wildfires, droughts, storms, or other climatic phenomena<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implications of <strong>economic and institutional fluctuations<\/strong> (e.g., markets, policies, governance structures) for forest and resource management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Long-term forest management<\/strong>, sustainability, and climate adaptation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decision support systems, optimization models, and integrated approaches linking <strong>economics, ecology, and policy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Broader topics in <strong>forest resource economics<\/strong>, including valuation of ecosystem services, policy analysis, and behavioral or institutional economics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications beyond forestry (e.g., agriculture, fisheries, conservation) that relate to land use and long-term resource management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>While studies directly linked to the <strong>Faustmann framework<\/strong> are central to the symposium\u2019s tradition, we also <strong>strongly encourage submissions from the broader field of forest resource economics<\/strong> and related disciplines addressing contemporary management challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Abstracts<\/strong> (max. 300 words) or <strong>full papers<\/strong> should clearly outline the research question, methods, and expected or preliminary results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All submissions will undergo review by the scientific committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selected contributions will be invited for <strong>oral presentations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will not be considering poster presentations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submissions should be emailed to the Conference Committee at <a href=\"mailto:Faustmann2026@oregonstate.edu\">Faustmann2026@oregonstate.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Abstract submission deadline:&nbsp;June 15, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notification of acceptance: July 1, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Symposium dates: 6-7, October 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional field trip (TBD): 8, October 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Corvallis and OSU:<\/strong> Corvallis is a vibrant city nestled in the heart of Oregon&#8217;s Willamette Valley, approximately 90 minutes from Portland and the Pacific Ocean.
