Thesis<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>Dissertation<\/strong><\/a> Completion Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thesis and Dissertation Completion Awards support outstanding master\u2019s and doctoral students in the final stages of their theses or dissertations. The intent of these awards is to enable students to focus on research and writing with the goal of improving the quality of their work and expediting time to degree completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thesis Completion Award<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Fall 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Western Association of Graduate Schools and ProQuest Awards<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This prestigious regional competition is an important opportunity for OSU to showcase innovation and creativity by our graduate students. The Graduate School will provide a cash award of $1000 to each student selected as OSU\u2019s finalist for the award categories below. We encourage you to take the time to prepare a nomination for any of the four award categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.      The WAGS\/ProQuest Innovation in Technology Award<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.      The WAGS\/ProQuest Distinguished Master\u2019s Thesis Award in STEM disciplines<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.      The WAGS\/ProQuest Distinguished Master\u2019s Thesis Award in humanities, social sciences, education, and business disciplines<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.      The WAGS\/ProQuest Distinguished Master\u2019s Thesis and\/or Final Master\u2019s Capstone Project Award in the Creative, Visual and Performing Arts<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7        Nomination period July 7, 2021 \u2013 September 6, 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarly Presentation Award<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Graduate School offers the Scholarly Presentation Award to provide graduate students with financial support to assist with certain costs associated with presenting their scholarly work at academic conferences and meetings. An individual student may receive up to $1000<\/strong> in Scholarly Presentation Award funds per academic year. Students may now apply directly for this award!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7        Requests are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year; subject to funding availability per term. Requests must be made no earlier than one term prior to the date of the activity, and no later than 30 days following<\/strong> the activity.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Development Award<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many professional development opportunities exist beyond the university to help graduate students build core competencies and transferrable skills. The Graduate School invites students to apply for funding through the Professional Development Award to help cover costs for qualifying trainings, resources, and activities that contribute to professional skills development. Students may receive up to $500<\/strong> in Professional Development Award funds per academic year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
