Most of these so-called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthtechling.com\/tag\/cool-roofs\/\">cool roofs<\/a>\u201d are made of squint-inducing white materials to take advantage of the color\u2019s highly reflective properties.<\/p>\n<p>Well, we may no longer be limited to building a boring (and blinding) sea of white-roofed buildings, according to research from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/ua\/ncs\/archives\/2012\/jun\/new-compound-could-become-%E2%80%9Ccool-blue%E2%80%9D-energy-efficiency-buildings\">Oregon State University (OSU)<\/a>.
