The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theopedproject.org%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CLuanne.Johnson%40oregonstate.edu%7C4dc2b8b126c0486cc43708dc2e550a05%7Cce6d05e13c5e4d6287a84c4a2713c113%7C0%7C0%7C638436189974144015%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=s259o31dEtMIqJmQ%2BsjmFjh5MkYM1EXBgaYEhjLZkD0%3D&amp;reserved=0\">OpEd Project<\/a>&nbsp;partners with top universities across the country, with the goal of enabling a more diverse set of thinkers to contribute to important&nbsp;public discourse.&nbsp;Each fellow joins a unique cohort of highest-caliber scholars who are supported by extraordinary resources and training over the course of the Fellowship, including cutting-edge programming, high-level coaching, and access to a prestigious network of journalists and fellows at peer institutions nationwide. Emphasis is on thought leaders who are underrepresented in the public sphere.&nbsp;The fellowship offers an opportunity&nbsp;for faculty to be part of a professional development cohort centering around&nbsp;the impact of public scholarship and advancing thought leadership.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Program Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Fellows&nbsp;are&nbsp;required&nbsp;to&nbsp;participate&nbsp;fully&nbsp;in&nbsp;three&nbsp;convenings and write at least two opinion pieces (op-eds)<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>through the duration of the program. The first convening will be held over three half-days via Zoom and last two will be in-person on the Corvallis campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KNOWLEDGE CONVENING:&nbsp;October 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 10<sup>th<\/sup>, and 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;from&nbsp;10:00am-1:30pm Pacific time(via&nbsp;Zoom)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONNECTION CONVENING:&nbsp;November 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;from&nbsp;10:00am-5:00pm Pacific time&nbsp;(in&nbsp;person)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONTAGION\/LEGACY CONVENING:&nbsp;December 6<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;from&nbsp;10:00am-5:00pm Pacific time&nbsp;(inperson)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility:<\/u><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>All academic faculty are eligible to apply with the approval of their supervisor. However, this program may be best suited for professorial faculty at the associate or full rank who&nbsp;are&nbsp;interested in&nbsp;expanding their research impact as a&nbsp;public&nbsp;scholar.&nbsp;Twenty fellows will be selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because diversity in the cohort leads to a more dynamic learning environment, we will be considering various forms of diversity in our selection process.&nbsp;We&nbsp;encourage&nbsp;applicationsfrom&nbsp;women, faculty of color,&nbsp;and faculty members who are otherwise underrepresented in their discipline. The balance of the cost should be supported through academic units, colleges, or professional development funds. Unit heads should work with fellows to adjust their fall workload in ways that will allow them to fully participate in the program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Learn More about Public Scholarship:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;OFA is sponsoring a webinar focused on engaging in public scholarship on February 6<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;from 10:00am-11:00am via Zoom.
