Online Disability Access Services Instructor Training<\/strong>\u00a0In addition to the\u00a0OSU Critical Training for Promoting Equal Opportunity & Inclusion<\/a>, DAS offers a concise (30-minute) self-paced online course about accommodations:\u202fDisability Access Services Faculty Training<\/a>.\u00a0\u202f\u00a0

Disability Access Services Instructor Online Portal\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0DAS has implemented an\u00a0instructor online services portal (found on the right side of\u00a0DAS\u2019s website<\/a>)\u00a0to provide a single space for instructors to review\u202fall\u202fDAS-related accommodation notifications for students\u202fin their classes. The DAS Notification Letters will still be emailed, this is an additional way to access the information.\u00a0\u00a0If you have any questions, connect with DAS either by\u00a0Zoom drop-in<\/a>\u00a0from 10:30 AM -12:30 PM daily (PST), email\u00a0disability.services@oregonstate.edu<\/a>, or phone at 541-737-4098.\u00a0\u00a0

Canvas and Remote Teaching Material Accessibility<\/strong>\u00a0Courses created in Canvas, as well as electronic documents and media, need to be accessible for students with disabilities. Multiple OSU offices have developed resources on making materials accessible. Resources include:\u202fCanvas \u2013 Improving Accessibility in Your Course<\/a>;\u00a0Ally for Canvas<\/a>, an accessibility checker and tool for Canvas; and\u00a0Creating and Editing Captions in Kaltura and Zoom<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0

Aira Visual Interpreting<\/strong>\u00a0
OSU has partnered with\u202fAira, a company that provides 24-hour-a-day\u00a0on-demand remote visual interpretation services<\/a>\u00a0for the blind and low-vision community. This new service is free for all OSU community members and visitors.\u00a0\u00a0

ADA 31 Report and Disability Justice Framework<\/strong>\u00a0Recently, an OSU task force completed an ADA 31 Report with 14 recommendations, one of which is \u201cEncourage and support inclusive classroom and learning materials.\u201d We encourage you to visit the\u00a0ADA 31<\/a>\u00a0website, learn more about the development of the\u00a0OSU Disability Justice Framework<\/a>, and visit the Office of Institutional Diversity\u2019s\u00a0education website<\/a>\u00a0to find opportunities to learn more.\u00a0\u202f\u00a0
