This is a&nbsp;full-time, 12 month, non tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level at&nbsp;the annual salary of $70,000 including full benefits, to&nbsp;commence Fall 2022.&nbsp;The fellow&nbsp;will be a part of a mentored research environment and, with a&nbsp;successful and demonstrated contribution to inclusion, diversity, and equity,&nbsp;will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at&nbsp;Stony Brook University&nbsp;after two years&nbsp;[24&nbsp;months of fellow support].&nbsp;Candidates must have&nbsp;demonstrated plans to&nbsp;contribute to inclusion, diversity and equity, excellence&nbsp;in innovative&nbsp;research and potential to participate in the teaching mission of&nbsp;the Chemistry department. The&nbsp;successful candidate will be expected to be an&nbsp;effective interdisciplinary teacher and&nbsp;mentor at the undergraduate and&nbsp;graduate levels to guide research and professional&nbsp;development, and be an&nbsp;active participant in community outreach activities. Together these provide an\u00a0excellent environment and unique\u00a0facilities and infrastructure for\u00a0research in areas such as\u00a0advanced materials, chemical biology, and computational\u00a0chemistry. We invite applications from both\u00a0experimentalists and theorists in\u00a0all areas of Chemistry,\u00a0with particular interests in the following strategic\u00a0areas, broadly defined: (1) molecular tools to address health\u00a0disparities; for\u00a0example, new approaches and strategies to understand,\u00a0treat, or diagnose diseases\u00a0that disproportionately impact certain patient populations; (2) chemical\u00a0approaches to address energy and environmental challenges; including\u00a0sustainable\u00a0materials, energy storage, photocatalysis, recyclable polymers, and\u00a0tools to probe\u00a0atmospheric chemistry. Affiliate or joint appointments with\u00a0related departments is possible if this is of\u00a0interest to the Fellow.\u00a0If a Fellow requires\u00a0laboratory space or major\u00a0equipment, identification of potential faculty\u00a0sponsors would be welcomed in the research part of the application or in\u00a0the\u00a0cover letter.<br><br>Review of applicant\u00a0files will begin on September 30, 2021 and will continue until the posting\u00a0closes October 15, 2021.
