{"id":4678,"date":"2018-02-01T09:33:57","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:33:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=4678"},"modified":"2018-02-01T09:33:57","modified_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:33:57","slug":"annual-fire-inspection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2018\/02\/01\/annual-fire-inspection\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Fire Inspection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone,<\/p>\n<p>It is that time of year again when the Corvallis Fire Marshal, Jim Patton, performs his annual fire\/safety inspection of Gilbert Hall and Gilbert Addition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gilbert Addition<\/strong> will be performed on <strong>Wednesday, February 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> (Happy Valentine\u2019s Day)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gilbert Hall<\/strong> will follow on <strong>Thursday, February 15<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inspections <strong>begin at 9:00 AM<\/strong> on both days.<\/p>\n<p>Attached are the two safety checklists to use as a guide to ensure your areas are up to expectations.\u00a0 One is for the Offices and Classrooms, the other is for Labs.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m giving two-week notice so everyone has time to review their spaces and ensure we pass with minimal discrepancies.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest culprits are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extension cords used as a permanent, or long-term, solution.<\/li>\n<li>Power Strips daisy chained.\u00a0 I.e.
