{"id":411,"date":"2012-04-19T10:02:58","date_gmt":"2012-04-19T18:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=411"},"modified":"2012-04-19T10:02:58","modified_gmt":"2012-04-19T18:02:58","slug":"phd-scholarship-at-eskitis-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2012\/04\/19\/phd-scholarship-at-eskitis-institute\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD Scholarship at Eskitis Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Research Higher Degree Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Quinn group (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.researcherid.com\/rid\/A-7931-2008\">www.researcherid.com\/rid\/A-7931-2008<\/a>) is working <\/strong>towards new therapies for infectious diseases, such as malaria and tuberculosis.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking applications from prospective PhD students to work in a drug discovery project in infectious disease supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Australian Research Council (ARC Linkage). This project is your chance to make a difference in the global fight against infectious disease like malaria and tuberculosis.<\/p>\n<p>This project aims to synthesis fragments derived from part structures of natural products. This will include molecular modeling and chemoinformatics to identify fragment-sized portions of natural products that can be added to the library to expand the upper limit of accessible fragment diversity and <em>in silico<\/em> analysis of natural product diversity space to generate a minimum set of fragments.
