(What about it initially interested you?):<\/strong> I love science and figuring out how things work. \u00a0Chemistry is fun because you can apply it to so many different aspects of life to understand things better.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research focus (in non-science terms) or basic job duties?<\/strong> I primarily teach Ecampus courses. \u00a0Mostly I teach in the general chemistry for non-majors sequence, but I also teach environmental chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>One thing you truly love about your job?<\/strong> I love the opportunity to help students &#8211; many of whom are terrified of chemistry &#8211; face their fears and work their way to success in the material. \u00a0I *especially* love it when they come to appreciate or even enjoy the subject matter along the way.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>One interesting\/strange factoid about yourself.<\/strong> I did my BS at OSU, but did a year\u2019s study abroad in New Zealand. \u00a0It was amazing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Name: Marita Barth Area of Study \/ Position Title:\u00a0 Instructor Why chemistry?
