You are especially encouraged to consider nominating those who have shown themselves to be dedicated to improving the lives of other women, but whose work may sometimes go unnoticed, unrecognized, or unrewarded.<\/p>\n<p>Please help us identify women in your colleges, departments, classrooms, organizations and committees by distributing this form to anyone interested in making a nomination.\u00a0\u00a0With the exception of those who have received the award in the past, all are eligible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/womenscenter\/sites\/default\/files\/past_women_of_achievement_award_recipients14.pdf\">For\u00a0a list of past WOA recipients, click here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>We invite you to not only consider nominating a worthy individual but hope that you will plan to attend this year\u2019s award ceremony in the Memorial Union Lounge on May 19,\u00a02014!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The nominee may not have received the award in the past.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The nominee must be a member of the OSU community or a community partner.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Nominees should:<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0have a demonstrated commitment to equality, and dedication to furthering the lives of women, especially those of OSU students.<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0be engaged in work that has positively affected the lives of women.<\/p>\n<p>c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0have served as a role model in the lives of girls and\/or women.<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0 \u00a0 The nominee must not be a current member of the OSU Women&#8217;s Center Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/womenscenter\/sites\/default\/files\/2013wcaby.pdf\">click here for a list of the 2013-2014 Advisory Board members<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination packets containing the following information will be considered:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Primary nominator\u2019s letter containing:<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Name, address, phone, and email of nominator<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Relationship to nominee<\/p>\n<p>c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Curriculum vita or resume with contact information of the woman being nominated<\/p>\n<p>d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A nomination letter with specific examples of the nominee\u2019s actions and accomplishments:<\/p>\n<p>i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0demonstrated commitment to equality, and dedication to furthering the lives of women, especially those of OSU students.<\/p>\n<p>ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0engagement in work that has positively affected the lives of women.<\/p>\n<p>iii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0served as a role model in the lives of OSU girls and\/or women.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Additional letters of support:<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0One but no more than two additional letters beyond that of the primary nominator:<\/p>\n<p>i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Each letter should clearly address, with specific examples, the criteria and qualifications about which the letter writer has direct knowledge (see 1.d above).<\/p>\n<p>ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Each letter must not exceed 2 pages (single space-#12 font-1\u201d margins)<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Primary nominator should<\/p>\n<p>i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0forward a copy of the award criteria to letter writers<\/p>\n<p>ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0remind letter writers that strong nominations will exemplify the nominee\u2019s accomplishments in accordance with award criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Please email nomination packets IN FULL to <a href=\"mailto:womenscenter@oregonstate.edu\">womenscenter@oregonstate.edu<\/a> (Attention WOAC). It is the responsibility of the primary nominator to make sure that the packet is complete.
