{"id":1534,"date":"2013-11-26T09:04:34","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T17:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=1534"},"modified":"2013-11-26T09:04:34","modified_gmt":"2013-11-26T17:04:34","slug":"igert-aging-sciences-currently-recruiting-trainees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2013\/11\/26\/igert-aging-sciences-currently-recruiting-trainees\/","title":{"rendered":"IGERT in Aging Sciences &#8211; currently recruiting trainees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you may know, we are currently recruiting trainees for the 2014-2016 IGERT in Aging Sciences program.\u00a0 This IGERT program (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/funding\/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=12759\" target=\"_blank\">Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship<\/a>) is funded by the National Science Foundation and will be attractive to many students applying to participating departments at OSU, including Human Development &amp; Family Sciences, Electrical Engineering &amp; Computer Science, Nutrition &amp; Exercise Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry &amp; Biophysics, Design &amp; Human Environment, Public Health, \u00a0Zoology and Construction &amp; Civil Engineering.\u00a0 Oregon State\u2019s IGERT in Aging Sciences will provide trainees a stipend of $30,000 per year for two years of their doctoral program, along with support for tuition remission and research costs.\u00a0Doctoral departments will determine funding levels for remaining years in the program.<\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to apply to participating graduate departments and indicate their interest in the IGERT program on their applications.\u00a0 We would also appreciate it if graduate advisors would screen for potential IGERT applicants.
