{"id":1498,"date":"2013-11-08T08:37:09","date_gmt":"2013-11-08T16:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=1498"},"modified":"2013-11-08T08:37:09","modified_gmt":"2013-11-08T16:37:09","slug":"south-carolina-universities-research-education-foundation-scuref","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2013\/11\/08\/south-carolina-universities-research-education-foundation-scuref\/","title":{"rendered":"South Carolina Universities Research and Education Foundation (SCUREF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South Carolina Universities Research and Education Foundation (SCUREF) is now accepting applications for the Nuclear Forensics Undergraduate Scholarship Program (NFUSP) 2014-2015 Award Cycle.\u00a0 Attached you will find a booklet with a description of the program and application criteria, as well as an application and instructions for completion.\u00a0 Potential scholars are encouraged to complete the electronic application and associated forms on the SCUREF website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scuref.org\/\">www.scuref.org<\/a> under the NFUSP tab.<\/p>\n<p>Also attached is a poster announcing the NFUSP Award Cycle, which we hope you will print and prominently display.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, the NFUSP provides scholarships to qualified undergraduate students pursuing degrees in disciplines relevant to technical nuclear forensics including physics, <b>chemistry<\/b>, nuclear engineering, and material science. Scholars gain hands-on experience through summer research opportunities at the Department of Energy national laboratories, including close interaction with technical experts throughout the national nuclear forensics community. The NFUSP aims to build a viable student career path in nuclear forensics in order to cultivate the next generation of highly qualified scientists in this critically important field.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please forward the attached booklet and application information to anyone who might be interested and encourage students to apply for this scholarship.
