What am I good at?
Working collaboratively with others and creating an environment in which the outcome of the team’s work is greater than the contribution of each individual member of the team.
Solving complex challenges and issues and distilling them into actionable strategies and plans that are clear and concise.
Performing in high stress environments. I do not allow the stress of the environment, or others, to negatively impact my level of stress so that others may derive a level of confidence from my calm energy.
What do I value?
Leadership. I am motivated by serving the needs of the team and achieving collective success. I am not motivated by power, personal recognition or gain in leadership roles. This has directly shaped my leadership style to that of a servant leader.
Achieving balance in my life across family, personal time, and work. I strive to achieve balance by being fully present in each moment.
How did I get here?
I chose to enroll in the MBA program because I am curious and enjoy learning.
I chose the Organizational Leadership track because I enjoy coaching, mentoring, and enabling others in their development of being the best teammates and leaders they can.
Based on my experiences in the private sector, many organizations promote individuals into positions of leadership based on the belief of “people are born to be leaders”, or “leadership is a natural, inherit personality trait” versus an approach of leadership skills can be learned and continuously developed over time.
Where am I going?
Coaching, mentoring, and developing business leaders is the current trajectory path where I believe I can add value for individuals and organizations. Additionally, this work brings me enjoyment.
The vehicle in which pursue this is the question I need to determine. Options would include work in the private sector at a leadership level in the organization, through consulting work, or through instruction at a university/college.

Hello Eric,
You mentioned in this blog that one of your skills is that you are good at performing in high-stress environments and situations. This is a skill that not all people have and although it is something that can be worked on, it is difficult to do. This is a very valuable skill and I am sure that it is a large reason as to how you got to where you are today.
