{"id":75,"date":"2017-07-14T10:30:13","date_gmt":"2017-07-14T17:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/eoh\/?p=75"},"modified":"2017-07-14T10:30:13","modified_gmt":"2017-07-14T17:30:13","slug":"roddenberry-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/eoh\/roddenberry-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"Roddenberry Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Roddenberry Foundation is launching a new Fellowship award on July 25, 2017. \u00a0They will award a total of $1 million to 20 activists from across the US to enter a 12-month fellowship program, which will commence in January 2018.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Fellows will each receive a $50,000 award, as well as tailored support, to implement a project or initiative that has direct impact in one of four major areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Civil Rights<\/li>\n<li>Climate Change and Environmental Justice<\/li>\n<li>Immigration and Refugee Rights<\/li>\n<li>LGBTQIA and Women\u2019s Rights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are 24 extraordinary judges to select this year\u2019s Fellows, including Michael Eric Dyson, Susan Herman, Bill McKibben, Soledad O\u2019Brien, Melissa Harris-Perry, Tricia Rose, Rhea Suh, and Neera Tanden.
