The mission of the Swetland\nCenter is to study the complex interplay between the environment and health\nwith the goal of translating findings into scalable solutions to redress the\nenvironment&#8217;s disparate impact on residents in Cleveland and beyond. The\nstrategic vision of the Swetland Center is to innovate and apply community\nsystems science for environmental health equity by (1) advancing translational\nenvironmental health research, (2) integrating environmental health and\ncommunity systems science into medical and graduate education, and (3) engaging\nthe community in environmental health research and action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The post-doctoral scholar will join a collaborative\nresearch team that includes strong community-university partnerships. They will\nhave an opportunity to develop new independent research focused on local\nenvironmental health issues related to air quality, lead exposure, and\nunderlying root causes such as poverty and racism to advance environmental\nhealth equity through community-engaged team science.
