Markey (D-MA), member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, seeks a Legislative Assistant to lead work on the Senator\u2019s environmental portfolio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This individual will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advise and brief the Senator; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Draft, introduce, and secure the passage of amendments and bills; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify bipartisan opportunities; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform in-depth analysis and research; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet with constituents; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare briefing materials; and <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with national and local stakeholders. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualified candidates should also be entrepreneurial, possess excellent negotiation and writing skills, and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experience on air, water, chemicals, and public lands issues is preferred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not an entry-level position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, military, and\/or other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as candidates with ties to Massachusetts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This position is in person and based in the Washington, DC office with a salary of $81,276 annually and benefits that include a federal student loan repayment option.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please submit a resume and cover letter.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Link to job posting is here.
