Application closes: not specified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Position Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Perform a series of work tasks or assignments to assist Parks &amp; Recreation work groups in the research and development of programs and\/or the implementation of projects, activities, and programs. &nbsp;Areas of concentration may include: performing arts &amp; production, outdoor recreation, marketing, health &amp; fitness, gerontology, adaptive recreation to name a few. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.<br><br>Part-time, non-represented position<br>Up to 20 hours per week<br>1 \u2013 6 months, flexible<br>&nbsp;<br>Must meet all qualifications and requirements as listed in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.governmentjobs.com\/careers\/corvallisor\/classspecs\/newprint\/1645477\">position description<\/a>.<br><br>At <strong>Parks and Recreation,&nbsp;<\/strong>our mission is to preserve and create a community heritage by providing places and programs designed to enhance the quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Essential Functions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Assists with research and development of special projects, department activities and programs. &nbsp;Assesses and observes current instructors, programs, and activities.<br>&nbsp;<br>Participates, attends, and assists at Parks and Recreation events and activities. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Collaborates with work group staff to perform assigned tasks and\/or to implement projects, activities, and programs. &nbsp;Performs as a member of a team, contributing to the achievement of work group goals and objectives.<br>&nbsp;<br>Assists with gathering, preparing, and disseminating information in support of projects, events, and programs.<br>&nbsp;<br>Follows City procurement procedures to acquire goods and services.<br>&nbsp;<br>Complies with all safety rules and performs work in a safe manner.<br>&nbsp;<br>Delivers excellent customer service to diverse audiences. &nbsp;Responds to customer service requests, questions and complaints. &nbsp;Maintains a positive customer service demeanor and delivers service in a respectful and patient manner.<br>&nbsp;<br>Maintains effective work relationships.<br>&nbsp;<br>Arrives to work, meetings, and other work-related functions on time and maintains regular job attendance.<br>&nbsp;<br>Acts ethically and honestly; applies ethical standards of behavior to daily work activities and interactions. Builds confidence in the City through own actions.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Complies with all Administrative Policies. &nbsp;Performs work in accordance with Council Policies and Municipal Code sections applicable to position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications and Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Education and Experience<\/u><\/strong><br>High school diploma or equivalent and current enrollment in or completion of a post-secondary academic degree in a field related to the assigned work group.&nbsp;<br><br><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/u><\/strong><br>Ability to read, understand and follow standard procedures, prepare written reports and communications. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Strong organizational and time management skills. &nbsp;Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.<br>&nbsp;<br>Desire to learn and grow professionally.<br>&nbsp;<br>Ability to research, interpret and summarize data. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.&nbsp;Ability to use conversational skills and courtesy to exchange information to various audiences and provide general assistance.<br>&nbsp;<br>Ability to&nbsp;work&nbsp;in a team environment and\/or work alone while performing duties thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Department policy. &nbsp;Ability to get along well with co-workers and maintain working relationships.<br>&nbsp;<br>General computer skills and ability use a computer for extended periods of time to perform essential functions of the position.<br>&nbsp;<br>Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with sensitive or confidential information.<br>&nbsp;<br><strong><u>Special Requirements<\/u><\/strong><br>At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college\/university or career educational program.
