{"id":120,"date":"2017-09-05T08:58:36","date_gmt":"2017-09-05T15:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/eoh\/?p=120"},"modified":"2017-09-05T08:58:36","modified_gmt":"2017-09-05T15:58:36","slug":"tenure-track-faculty-exposure-scienceindustrial-hygiene-purdue-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/eoh\/tenure-track-faculty-exposure-scienceindustrial-hygiene-purdue-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Tenure Track Faculty in Exposure Science\/Industrial Hygiene (Purdue University)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The School of Health Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University invites applications<br \/>\nfor a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor faculty member in Exposure<br \/>\nScience\/Industrial Hygiene.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate is expected to lead an extramurally funded<br \/>\nresearch program involving environmental or occupational hazards and their effects on human<br \/>\nhealth; and contribute to teaching in our ABET-accredited undergraduate and graduate level<br \/>\nprograms and the newly established Public Health Graduate Program. Although all research areas<br \/>\nin Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences are welcome, the School has particular<br \/>\ninterest in the development of cutting-edge methods in exposure science\/modeling and its<br \/>\napplication to epidemiological and toxicology studies. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Industrial<br \/>\nHygiene, Occupational Health Science, Exposure Science, or a related field and at least 3-5 years<br \/>\nof relevant independent research experience. Candidates who are Certified Industrial Hygienists<br \/>\n(CIH), or who will be eligible for CIH certification within two years, will be given preference.<br \/>\nCIH status should be directly addressed in the application. The position is competitive with regards<br \/>\nto salary, start-up funds, and laboratory space.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have extensive collaborative opportunities in the School of Health<br \/>\nSciences and beyond. Within the School of Health Sciences, ongoing studies on the adverse<br \/>\noutcomes of numerous environmentally relevant exposures offers tremendous opportunities for<br \/>\ncontributions from an exposure scientist. Outside the School, there are collaborative opportunities<br \/>\nwith Purdue\u2019s world-renowned colleges, including Engineering, Management, Science, Health<br \/>\nand Human Sciences, Pharmacy, and Agriculture. Purdue has also established Discovery Park, a<br \/>\nhighly interdisciplinary enterprise dedicated to transformative research that includes state-of-theart<br \/>\ncenters for nanotechnology, biosciences, healthcare engineering, energy, and other multidisciplinary<br \/>\nactivities; including the Ray W. Herrick Laboratories which focuses on indoor<br \/>\nenvironments.
