The job description of the position I currently have did not influence me to apply. The job description was very vague and did not explain most of what I actually do on a normal day. It stated the qualifications I needed to have to apply, some recommended traits, and a warning about confidentiality. I had a friend who worked in the same position before me and told me about what she did, how she loved her coworkers and bosses, and that I would enjoy it as well. Her recommendation influenced me to apply for the job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The job description only said that I would have to be available for all football games, and that I would be working in ticketing sales and customer service at the ticketing box. It never mentioned the phone calls I would need to be making, the online ticketing software that I would need to memorize, or the different tasks I would do throughout the day in the office. Although many of the tasks I do during office hours are mundane, it would have been nice to know that I would be doing some administrative tasks as well. But because the description was so vague it did overall somewhat describe what I would be doing, just without detail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wish there would have been more detail in the job description but because it is just an on-campus part time job I was not too concerned about it being too overwhelming. If I were applying for a job after college though, I would want the job description to accurately describe what I would be doing and what would be expected of me in that position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
