Executive Compensation

Having a justifiable executive compensation plan I believe is valuable. When you want to attract very well high level employees it is important they are compensated highly, mainly because of the competing companies. Additionally, offering a large compensation in most cases encourages those employees to value the success of the company. Although, I do recognize the importance of executive compensation I do think there is a thin line between executive compensation and unethical executive compensation. In many cases when you have a large business the goal of the company shifts from trying to make it in the market to being the market. You no longer have to worry about competitors as much, and you have more freedom when it comes to financial decisions. This can and has led to the (in my opinion) overpaying of many executive managements from various companies. In result we are seeing a huge disparity between entry level positions, higher level positions, and executive positions salaries. So moving forward I think their needs to be laws put in place that band the overcompensation of executives when employees within the company are still barely being compensated minimum wage.
