On December 10, 2013 OSU posted a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit bids from LMS vendors. You can view the Learning Management System RFP here.
The RFP describes OSU’s needs for an innovative learning platform that will help us meet 21st century expectations for academic engagement, collaboration, and information retrieval.
Responses to the RFP are due on January 10, 2014. They will be evaluated in a two-stage process.
Stage 1: Several review teams will read the proposals in detail and document each system’s strengths and weaknesses.
The review teams will then rank the proposals and identify a short list of top candidates (at least one, but no more than three). We anticipate announcing the short list in mid-February 2014.
Stage 2: we will invite the short list of candidates to implement their systems in a “sandbox” environment during Spring term 2014. All OSU students, instructors and staff will be encouraged to conduct hands-on evaluation and provide feedback.
We anticipate announcing a decision on the final selection during Summer 2014.
