Introduction
The Masters in Education (EdM) is a 45-credit degree program offered entirely online for the convenience and accessibility of practicing teachers worldwide. It is a partnership between the College of Education and OSU Extended Campus (Ecampus).
Mission
The mission of the Masters in Education program is to support K-12 teachers early in their careers to nurture continuous learning and development among teachers that values scholarship, reflection, inquiry, openness, and social responsibility. This program facilitates the professional growth of teachers as:

Program Requirements – Total Credits = 45
- Professional education core courses (24 credits) -6 credits that are grade-level specific
- Projects (6 credits) – Completion of a capstone project which is an opportunity to address a practical, real-world problem in the classroom, school or community using the skills and knowledge gained throughout the program of study.
- Concentration (15 credits) – Elective credits in your content area, such as social studies, math education, science education, or obtain endorsement in English as a Second Language/Bilingual or Reading.

Masters Admission Requirements
In order to be accepted into the Master’s Degree in Education (EdM), a student must submit a completed application file that indicates student’s ability to succeed in a graduate program at OSU.
- Earned a baccalaureate degree with a cumulative B average (3.00 GPA) on the most recent BS degree or subsequent graduate course work
- Earned a teaching license or has at least 2 years of teaching experience in a K-12 classroom
- Has access to a K-12 classroom or other learning environment while enrolled in the program
