With a tag line, &#8220;Fresh. Local. Sustainable.&#8221; it only felt right to do some research and highlight sustainable efforts Burgerville have put into place!<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2016\/10\/logo-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9533 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2016\/10\/logo-1.png\" alt=\"logo-1\" width=\"231\" height=\"163\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>With the name <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burgerville.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Burgerville<\/a>, it&#8217;s obvious they make burgers. Of course! Burgerville holds strong connections with their ranchers and cattle farms. Jack Graves, the Chief Cultural Officer of Burgerville will spend time on the cattle farms learning about their ranching methods, and ensuring the best quality reaches the 42 Burgerville restaurants around the Pacific Northwest. Burgerville uses <strong>Country Natural Beef<\/strong>, a hormone and antibiotic-free high quality product that comes from a land-conscious cooperative. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.countrynaturalbeef.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Country Natural Beef<\/a>\u00a0holds strong value in taking care of the land, and creating a sustainable ranching lifestyle by preserving the land, practicing humane animal-handling practices and selling a high quality product.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"10 Years Serving Local, Natural Beef\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KcYZ7ZoXPD4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fresh<\/strong>\u00a0food was the original commitment from the start of Burgerville in 1961. To achieve their commitment to fresh,\u00a0Burgerville sources <strong>70-75%<\/strong> of their ingredients from local\u00a0farms and providers. <em>They define local as within 400 miles of their headquarters in Vancouver, WA.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Renewable energy<\/strong> runs the local Burgerville restaurants, either directly with\u00a0programs like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacificpower.net\/bluesky\" target=\"_blank\">Blue Sky<\/a>, or with off-sets such as <a href=\"http:\/\/apps3.eere.energy.gov\/greenpower\/markets\/certificates.shtml?page=0\" target=\"_blank\">Green Tags<\/a>.
