During Zero Week,<strong> June 13 &#8211; June 17<\/strong>, Center for Civic Engagement has an Alternative Break community learning opportunity to visit Warm Springs, OR to learn about tribal policy, community well-being, sustainability, cultural activities, food sourcing and more. Some activities offered are working in a community garden, food preservation, landscaping at a senior living facility, hiking in the reservation, incorporating <a href=\"http:\/\/extension.oregonstate.edu\/warmsprings\/\" target=\"_blank\">OSU extension programs<\/a>\u00a0offered in the community, and visiting the Museum.\u00a0While in Warm Springs, you will visit the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, home to the Warm Springs, Wasco and Paiute tribes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2016\/05\/Alt-Break.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9083 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2016\/05\/Alt-Break-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"Alt Break\" width=\"300\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a>This program is a great opportunity for students studying \u00a0Sociology, Ethnic Studies, World Languages and Cultures, Public Health, Nutrition, Public Policy, and more. Students from all majors and backgrounds are welcome to apply! <em>The priority deadline is <strong>\u00a0May 11, 2016<\/strong> but applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the trip is full.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The total cost of the trip is<strong> $95<\/strong>. To reduce economic barriers for students, there is now an opportunity to apply for a travel grant for the trip.
