{"id":3378,"date":"2013-06-25T11:00:58","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T18:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/sustainability\/blog\/?p=3378"},"modified":"2013-06-25T11:00:58","modified_gmt":"2013-06-25T18:00:58","slug":"volunteer-as-a-member-of-the-da-vinci-days-green-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/2013\/06\/25\/volunteer-as-a-member-of-the-da-vinci-days-green-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer as a member of the da Vinci Days Green Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #99cc00\">Are you a waste reduction enthusiast? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Join the 2013 da Vinci Days Green Team and <strong>gain free admission<\/strong> to the <a title=\"festival info\" href=\"http:\/\/www.davincidays.org\/event-information\" target=\"_blank\">25th Annual da Vinci Days Festival<\/a> running from July 19th to the 21st!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/recycle.oregonstate.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">OSU Campus Recycling<\/a>, in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/sustainablecorvallis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Corvallis Sustainability Coalition<\/a>&#8216;s Waste Reduction team, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.republicservices.com\/site\/corvallis-or\/en\/Pages\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Republic Services<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davincidays.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">da Vinci Days<\/a> are coordinating recycling efforts at\u00a0the annual festival and need volunteers help with their efforts to ensure da Vinci Days continues to be a low-waste event.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3389 alignright\" style=\"margin: 0px 2px\" title=\"77174_10151369463062312_2080168472_n\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2013\/06\/77174_10151369463062312_2080168472_n2-300x300.png\" alt=\"77174_10151369463062312_2080168472_n\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Volunteers will be either staffing a waste station, or working behind the scenes sorting waste from food vendors and unstaffed festival bins. Those who staff waste stations will have the opportunity to educate members of the Corvallis community and beyond of the benefit and necessity of composting and recycling.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000\">Free Admission<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Volunteers who sign up for two or more shifts during the festival will gain all-weekend free admission, typically a $20-25 cost! Campus Recycling and da Vinci Days asks volunteers seeking free admission to contribute no less than four hours of their time. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>To sign up to volunteer, <a href=\"http:\/\/tiny.cc\/greenteam2013\">click here<\/a><\/strong>.
