{"id":2875,"date":"2012-12-19T12:42:56","date_gmt":"2012-12-19T19:42:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/sustainability\/blog\/?p=2875"},"modified":"2012-12-19T12:42:56","modified_gmt":"2012-12-19T19:42:56","slug":"coast-to-valley-express-new-bus-service-from-corvallis-to-newport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/2012\/12\/19\/coast-to-valley-express-new-bus-service-from-corvallis-to-newport\/","title":{"rendered":"Coast to Valley Express: New Bus service from Corvallis to Newport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">Lincoln and Benton Counties have teamed up and are offering two buses that run between Corvallis and Newport.\u00a0 A bus leaves each location four times a day, and they both run seven days a week (except Christmas and Thanksgiving).\u00a0 Animals are allowed, but non-service animals must be in veterinarian-approved containers.\u00a0 The buses are ADA accessible with a wheelchair lift and bike racks are available for free.\u00a0 The bus stops at the Corvallis Downtown Transit Center (5th and Monroe) making it easy to link up with CTS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2877    aligncenter\" title=\"coast-to-valley-express\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2012\/12\/coast-to-valley-express-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"coast-to-valley-express\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cross-county trips cost $7 to $10 but bulk tickets are available at discounted rates.\u00a0 The bus also offers short trips for a highly discounted price.\u00a0 Taking the bus between Toledo Park &amp; Ride and Newport and between Philomath and Corvallis costs only $1.\u00a0 Taking it from Corvallis to the Albany Amtrak station costs $2.\u00a0 A schedule and more information can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.co.lincoln.or.us\/transit\/pdfs\/CoasttoValley.pdf\">Coast to Valley Express.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you are in Newport, you can take advantage of the Lincoln County Bus system.
